Industry Involvement Consultation Meetings
About
The Gulf of Maine Council on the Marine Environment recently released its 2007-2012 Action Plan. Goal Three of this plan is focused on encouraging and supporting industry in their efforts to utilize the Gulf of Maine and its resources sustainably. The Gulf of Maine Council is currently exploring ways to disseminate the objectives and work of the Council and encourage more participation by industry in Council programs. As a result, MRAG Americas, Inc. was contracted to hold consultation meetings with the marine industry in the Scotia-Fundy region and New England in August and September 2007. The purpose of the meetings is to discuss ways to make the Council more relevant to marine industry. The agenda will include a presentation on the Council’s programs and accomplishments and provide opportunity for marine sector representatives to comment.
