Cornish Sardine Fishery

MRAG Americas announces the certification of the Cornwall Sardine Fishery. The MRAG Americas Certification Committee has determined that the fishery meets the requirements for a well managed and sustainable fishery.

Sian Ka’an Banco Chinchorro biosphere reserves spiny lobster Fishery

MRAG Americas announces that the Sian Ka’an Banco Chinchorro spiny lobster fishery has completed a site visit. The 30 day stakeholder consultation period prior to publication of the Public Consultation is now open 5pm GMT on 16 December 2011. More information on the assessment is available through the MSC.

Southeast US North Atlantic Swordfish

Fishery and Bigeye and Yellowfin Tuna Fishery

MRAG Americas announces that the MSC assessment for the US Southeast bigeye-yellowfin tuna has completed a site visit and that analysis and writing of the assessment report is underway. Northeast Sakhalin and Aniva Bay Pink Salmon Fishery

MRAG announces that the Northeast Sakhalin and Aniva Bay pink salmon fishery has entered full assessment. MRAG Americas has made a request to modify the Unit of certification to include additional fishing companies in the assessment of the Northeast Sakhalin Island and Aniva Bay trap net pink salmon fishery. Ozernaya River Sockeye Salmon Fishery

MRAG announces that the Ozernaya River sockeye salmon fishery has entered full assessment. An assessment team has been proposed and confirmed. A site visit is scheduled for 30 May- 2 June, 2011 In Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky and Ozerna Russia. The assessment team proposes to use a modified version of the assessment tree. Australia Northern Prawn Fishery

MRAG announces that the Australia Northern prawn fishery has entered full assessment. An assessment team has been proposed and confirmed. A site visit and stakeholder meetings will be held in Brisbane, Australia from 13 September 2011. The assessment team proposes to use the MSC’s Risk Based Framework in place of the default Assessment Tree to evaluate a number of Performance Indicators.  More information is available from the MSC website for the Australia Northern prawn fishery.

Ozernaya River Sockeye Salmon Fishery

MRAG announces that the Ozernaya River sockeye salmon fishery has entered full assessment. An assessment team has been proposed and confirmed. A site visit occurred 30 May- 2 June, 2011 In Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky and Ozerna Russia.
