Alaska Groundfish Fishery

The Alaska groundfish fisheries, comprising the Alaska pollock – Gulf of Alaska (certified April 2005, re-certified September 2010), Alaska pollock – Bering Sea and Aleutian Islands (certified February 2005, re-certified December 2010), Alaska flatfish – Gulf of Alaska (certified June 2010, recertified October 2015), Alaska flatfish – Bering Sea and Aleutian Islands (certified June 2010, recertified October 2015), Alaska Pacific cod – Gulf of Alaska (certified January 2010, recertified June 2015), and Alaska Pacific cod – Bering Sea and Aleutian Islands (certified January 2010, recertified June 2015) fisheries are certified as sustainable. For updated information on these fisheries, visit:

Pacific Hake Mid-water Trawl Fisheries

The Pacific Hake mid-water trawl fishery was certified as sustainable in October 2009 and re-certified in November 2014 and will undergo periodic surveillance audits according to the MSC schedule. Australia Northern Prawn Fishery

US North Atlantic Swordfish Fishery

The US North Atlantic swordfish fishery was certified as sustainable in March 2013 and will undergo periodic surveillance audits according to the MSC schedule. Sian Ka’an and Banco Chinchorro Biosphere Reserves Spiny Lobster Fishery

The Sian Ka’an Banco Chinchorro Biosphere Reserves spiny lobster fishery was certified as sustainable in July 2012 and will undergo periodic surveillance audits according to the MSC schedule. Spencer Gulf King Prawn Fishery

The Spencer Gulf King Prawn fishery was certified as sustainable in August 2011 and will undergo periodic surveillance audits according to the MSC schedule. US West Coast Pink Shrimp Fishery

The Oregon component of the US West Coast pink shrimp fishery was certified as sustainable in December 2007 and recertified in February 2013. This fishery is currently undergoing periodic surveillance audits according to the MSC schedule.

The Washington component of the fishery was certified as sustainable in October 2015.

The California component of this fishery remains under assessment against the MSC Standard by way of “expedited scope extension” to the certified Oregon fishery. This entails an evaluation of only those aspects of the standard that are not held in common between the Oregon component and the CA components.

DFPO Denmark North Sea, Skagerrak & Kattegat Hake Fishery and the DFPO Denmark North Sea and Skagerrak Plaice Fishery
