Project Services

MRAG Americas pays considerable attention to tracking the performance of projects in relation to the goals and milestones specified in the project design. Sophisticated project planning and monitoring tools are used, such as the Logical Framework and BigTime, which include the pre-specification of verifiable indicators of project and program performance and clear explanation of the means of verification. We will ensure strict adherence to project deadlines for individual reviews and will closely monitor reviewer’s progress on task orders. MRAG has also gained considerable experience in the application of project planning management tools in the fisheries development sector. In addition to monitoring of our own project and program performance, MRAG’s expertise and experience has been used extensively for program support, staffing, surveys, workshop organization, rapporteur services, and focus groups.

MRAG Americas provides highly qualified full time personnel to provide scientific and technical services for a suite of projects. In one project, staffs were placed within NOAA offices to work on the issuance of scientific research permits and authorizations under the US Endangered Species Act (ESA) and Marine Mammal Protection Act (MMPA), including National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) documentation; in other work we led a team of economists and fishery specialists to developed and implement a survey tool to help fishery analysts evaluate the collective impact of potential management strategies. Some of our project service work has included extensive outreach and contact with the fishing industry; survey development to document resource management trends among users; developed social network analyses to evaluate inter-organizational connections.
